The National Gloster Club, as is the case with most specialty and cage bird clubs in the United States, offers leg bands of the appropriate size and color for the Gloster canary to its members.

Club show rules in the United States require that a bird being exhibited in a young/unflighted class be banded with a current year, closed and traceable band. The bands offered by the NGC meet this requirement. An agreed upon color coding system in the United States for type canaries consists of six rotating colors.
